Meet Our Board

Rosa Martin became one of the first members of FLACA. She is currently serving as president of the executive board, chair of the finance Committee and member of the Festival Latino. She is a native of Puerto Rico but was raised in Brooklyn, NY.

She moved for the second and final time from New York, to Kentucky in 1985. She is currently the Community Programs Director for AHEC in Lexington where she teaches health education classes. Her hobbies are listening to music, traveling and crafting. She is the proud mother of 2 daughters and 7 grandchildren. Her husband Jose is from Mexico.

Rosa Martin fue una de los primeros miembros de FLACA. Actualmente sirve como presidenta del comité ejecutivo, directora del comité de finanzas y miembro del comité del Festival Latino. Ella es natural de Puerto Rico pero se crio en Brooklyn, NY.
Se mudó por segunda vez y finalmente de New York, a Kentucky en 1985. Actualmente es la directora de programas comunitarios de AHEC en Lexington donde da clases en educación de salud. Sus pasatiempos son oír música, viajar y hacer manualidades. Es la orgullosa madre de 2 hijas y 7 nietos. Su esposo José es de México.

 

 

  Jacobo Aragón Torres became a member of FLACA in 2014. He is serving as Chair of the Public Relations Committee and member of the Culture & Arts and the Festival Latino Committees.

Mexican. Graduated from The National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, with a degree on Music Education with a minor on Percussion and attended a semester in percussion in the Fine Arts school of the University of Kentucky. He moved from Toronto Canada, to Lexington KY in 1985. He is currently a musician and a Spanish teacher at Lexington Catholic High School. His hobbies are music, traveling and gardening.

Jacobo Aragón Torres inició su membresía en FLACA en 2014. Funge como Director del comité de Relaciones Públicas, y miembro de los comités de Arte y Cultura, y del Festival Latino.

Mexicano. Se graduó del Conservatorio Nacional de Música de la Ciudad de México, titulado en Educación Musical y Percusiones, y estudió un semestre de percusiones en the Fine Arts School de la Universidad de Kentucky. Se mudó de Toronto Canadá, a Lexington KY. en 1985. Actualmente es músico y maestro de español en Lexington Catholic High School. Sus pasatiempos son música, viajar y jardinería.
